Madrid, 21 December 2021. The SENER Foundation presented the ST3LLAR SENER Foundation Awards to the best undergraduate and Master’s theses within the subject and scope of the UC3M-SENER Aeroespacial Chair. These awards recognize the research, scientific and technical excellence and quality of the theses of students at the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M).
The ceremony was held in the conference hall of the UC3M Leganés campus, and was attended by the current Director of the UC3M-SENER Aeroespacial Chair, Professor Andrés Marcos, the Director of the Department of Bioengineering and Aerospace Engineering and the main driver behind the creation of the Chair, Professor Eduardo Ahedo, the Director of the Avionics and Advanced Systems Division at SENER Aerospace, Sergio Reguero, and the Director of the SENER Foundation, Rosana Madroñal.
During his remarks, Professor Eduardo Ahedo recalled the creation of the Chair in 2018, based on relevant partnerships between the two entities, “with the common goal of promoting scientific research, developing aerospace devices and systems and analyzing and boosting the aerospace sector”.
For her part, the Director of the SENER Foundation, Rosana Madroñal, spoke about the importance of relations between the university and the company with “awards that seek to recognize the research quality and excellence of the theses within the Chair and whose content is helping to lay the foundations for improving our society through engineering. Improving the lives of people through engineering is the reason for being of the SENER Foundation and SENER: SENER’s vocation, and yours as well”.
The awards, consisting of 3 main prizes and 5 runners-up, were presented to: Raúl Martín Celaya (first prize); Javier Granizo Cuadrado (second prize); Alberto Manso González, Daniel Alcaide Nombela, Alicia Bermejo Rodríguez (third prizes); Alicia Miró Moncho, Isabel Carnoto Amat, Marcelo Miquel Juan, Rodrigo Santos García and Salvador Rodríguez Gómez (runners-up).
