Accepting applications for the 2016 scholarship
SENER Foundation announces the opening of the competition for scholarships in 2016, call for entries from May 11st to May 31st this year. Education within the framework of these grants is aimed at young engineers. This year we plan to choose five recently graduated engineers to study a Master or Doctorate in prestigious universities.
1. Purpose
The scholarship program for the training of young engineers SENER Foundation is a part of the following goals of the organization: – The contribution to social development through training people – Support the training of individuals or groups that stand out for their ability and initiative, scientific or technological competence and ethical responsibility.
2. Fellows
Engineers that are not of Spanish origin, have excellent academic level, received a diploma no more than four years ago, are interested in doing a master’s program abroad. This year will be given preference to engineers from:
- Central and South America (Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Chile …). Specialists in: power stations, Infrastructures and transport, oil refining and renewable energy.
- Specialists in railway engineering and urban transport and marine engineering.
The selected persons will devote 50% of the time to the studies and the rest to the practice in SENER.
3. Set 2015
The number of scholarships in 2016 are five (5).
4. Duration of Scholarship
Program duration of at least one year and a maximum of two.
5. The amount of the grant
SENER Fund pays for education at the university.
In addition, the scholarship amount will be determined depending on the country of study for the costs of accommodation, meals and transportation scholarship program participant.
The Fund provides health insurance coverage through private insurance company.
6. Deadline date
Applications will be accepted until May 31st, 2016, as published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
7. Filing
Applications must be made through the SENER Foundation’s website www.fundacion.sener, section how to apply for a scholarship.
To apply you must complete all sections of the questionnaire, motivate inquiry and interest and attach a resume and a photo.
At any time, the Fund may request additional information, such as academic records, or any other document confirming the data given in the CV.
8. Requirements for candidates
SENER Foundation appreciates the perfection of the candidates, particularly:
- High level of education
- High level of English proficiency
- High level language selected curriculum
- Personal maturity
- Positive attitude and openness to new cultures and environments
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary technical team.
9. Providing scholarships
A commission appointed by the Fund will evaluate the information provided by all applicants and will interview the best of the candidates.
Selection of recipients is 30th June 2016. After that date, the selected candidates will be notified by e-mail.
The decisions of the Selection Committee are final and not subject to discussion.
10. Acceptance of the grant
The selected candidates have to report the acceptance of the decision within fifteen calendar days after the receipt of e-mails from the Fund.
In case the candidate does not confirm in writing acceptance of scholarship in this period, the offer is automatically revoked and cannot be requested more.
11. Academic and consular issues
The grantee is responsible for providing the necessary documentation for the adoption of the university, where he will be trained. In addition, he will be responsible for obtaining a visa to the country of destination.
SENER Foundation will provide support where it is needed, both in terms of the university, and in matters related to visa – Providing scholarships.
